I don’t know if it’s the teacher in me, but I love adding touches of seasonal decor to my home. For Valentine’s, I can appreciate the look of rich reds and bold pinks, but it just isn’t my style. I love a soft, delicate look, and this type of Valentine’s decor can be hard to find in stores. Also, if I am honest, I really don’t like spending money on them either (more on that in my video below). That is why I decided to create a couple of my own feminine heart shaped decorations. These two SIMPLE crafts added the perfect Valentine’s touch to my home this season. And because they are simple and inexpensive, I thought maybe you might want to try them too.
The first decor piece I created was this heart wreath made from coffee filters.
I began by dying the coffee filters (super easy-don’t be scared).
Then I rolled them into little flowers on a floral wire heart wreath. Like so…
I used a glue gun to secure the “flowers” to the wire wreath until I made my way around the wreath twice.
Voila! Isn’t she pretty and girly?
My next project was this fun yarn heart garland. This one is so easy, your kids can do it.
The little yarn hearts were made by wrapping blush pink yarn around cardboard heart cut outs. If you have 10 minutes, you have time for this project.
In today’s video, I’m having a little “heart to heart” with you (my online friends), and sharing these simple Valentine’s crafts step by step. Come join me!
